Help with Xbox live headset?

Something weird happened to my Xbox 360 Live Headset a while ago and I havent try to bypass correct. I have the headphones that comes with the Xbox, and recently I havent been able to speak in group discussion. I can send voice messages fine and I can listen to the discussion group, but can not intervene in the discussion group. I checked and he was silent turned off. Can anyone help me? Yesterday I bought the Turtle Beach xlc on Amazon lately (I wanted to replace the original head together anyway, those are Microsoft crap and those who were looking good for a person on a budget). Microsoft was originally seeded was broken or an option on the Xbox messed up. PLEASE HELP I hate being dumb.
