First Build! Need help!?

I need help on selecting parts for my new build. This will my first time building a PC. I already have a Samsung T240HD display. It runs 1920 x 1200. I'll surf the web, watch movies (but I have an Xbox 360), listen to music and of course the RTS games like Settlers Rise of an Empire, Company of Heroes, and other strategy games. I'm on a budget like around 500-700 U.S. dollars. What I think I should get: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or E7400 Graphics Card: 9800 GT 4870 or (NEED HELP HERE) Hard drive: not necessary, but WD 250 GB 7200 RPM may be the motherboard: Asus or Gigabyte (NEED HELP HERE) RAM: 2x2 GB or 2x1 GB (not sure of SPEED or Brand) Drive: (not sure what type or BRAND) Food: (not sure of watts needed BRAND OR) Business: (not sure WHAT is a good example) the design is not so important as all that is good

Processor: E8400 go. Graphics card: nVidia 9800 GT Hard Disk: I recommend you choose Seagate, I had a bad experience with WD. Mother: I recommend MSI, their mothers work perfectly well, offers good performance even, and are affordable. RAM: 4 gigs selection DDR3 1333 MHz RAM if you want extreme performance. If you do not need really extreme performance, choose more affordable 1066-MHz DDR2 RAM (also 4GB). But if you do what you said you (surf the web, watch movies, listening to music), then you should pick the second option that I told you (DDR2). Drive: You can get dual layer DVD burner with very Cheap. Food: I recommend you calculate how much each can use the components, then choose the appropriate power according to this issue. Case: Cooler Master to go.
