san andreas when I start on my 360 it freezes?! Is it broken?

the intro video plays, and when the splash screen is up early and i press it freezes ...... I try to press the Xbox button in the center of the controller to close the console down and hear their sound coming from the screen, but it doesn't show on the screen, I know the game voideo screen is blocking it ... there is nothing I can try to run it? or is the game just broken? So if its the old version, you can almost never play?
